Stargate International has an interesting history.  The company was founded by Johan Steyn during the eighties with its offices based in Cape Town operating as Tafelberg Tours. The venture opened its doors in 1982 mainly specializing in trips to the Holy Land. The list of destinations spread to other parts of the world, however to such an extent that it was decided to establish Stargate International to meet the high demand for scuba diving and other sports tours. Stargate functioned independently and in 1998, Tafelberg Tours was incorporated into the Stargate International operation with their offices located at the Johannesburg International Airport.

Today, Stargate International is a well established company in the travel industry. The core business is Israel, and through our global commitment to International service providers, we also serve International clientelle from abroad for local tours within South Africa. With a network of offices in Israel, France, Italy, the Philippines, Thailand, Russia and South America, we are a competitive wholesale travel provider.
